BMC Better Bolts The OrmeThis is a featured page

As part of the BMC better bolts campaign the North Wales Bolt Fund has been awared over 1300 bolts for re-equipping across North Wales. These bolts are specifically aimed at re-equipping exsisting routes bolt for bolt, and part of the process is that the BMC requires us to monitor the where the bolts placed. To make life as easy as possible I have added this page so we can add here as well as in the main text which routes on the Orme have been equipped by this supply of bolts.
To help clarify some potential grey areas the BMC bolts are not for:
New Routes
Retro Bolting
Adding lower off
Replacing pegs
As such if any routes require bolts in the above sense then we will have to use Bolts sourced from the bolt fund. The BMC bolts will be Petzl 12mmstud with Petzl hangers and Fixe stainless steel resin bolts and belay sets, whereas the Bolt fund bolts are 10mm Petzl and DMM ECO's (on Slate NWBF use 12mm studs with Fixe hangers -not marine grade). This will take a great deal of care to keep the sources of bolts seperate.
